Design template guidelines

Our review process

In order to see your design template published on our website as fast as possible, please make sure to follow the guidelines below:

1. Your design's preview images

Please make sure to include ALL of the pages that need to be coded. If some are missing or not ready yet please comment on that in the template's description field.

Don't upload drawings, wireframes, UX prototypes or other types of unfinished design representations.

  • Don’t post other people's work
  • Don’t post copyrighted or trademarked content

Don't post inappropriate content like:

  • Illegal materials
  • Pornographic, mature in content, or gratuitously or overly sexual
  • Sexist, racist, or otherwise offensive materials
  • Shockingly graphic, obscene, or grotesque
  • Inflammatory (e.g. name-calling, preaching, ranting, stirring up controversy, or venting frustrations)

All of the above will be considered SPAM and it will be removed by CodeMyTemplate per our Terms of Service. CodeMyTemplate has the final say over whether content is appropriate. If you repost content that’s been removed or continue to post content that violates these guidelines your account may be suspended or removed.

Only JPG and PNG file types are allowed.

You can upload unlimited preview images.

2. Your design's file type

Inform the users on the website regarding your design's file type. Currently you can choose from the following:

  • .PSD - Adobe Photoshop
  • .AI - Adobe Illustrator
  • .SKETCH - Sketch
  • .XD - Adobe XD
  • Other

3. What are you building with your design?

It's important to specify exactly what kind of product are you trying to build with your design. An online store or mobile app might take more time to build than a basic 5 pages website.

Choose and end product that best fit your requirements:

  • A website - Anything from a simple 5 pages presentation (or brochure style) website up to more content-rich ones
  • An eCommerce website - For online stores
  • A mobile app - Either to be published on Apple Store or Google Play
  • A Desktop or Web app
  • Other - Anything else that doesn't fit in the above options

4. Your design template's name

Keep it short but informative. Some good examples would be:
Rockin' Shoes - a Magento online store
A 5 pages presentation website
Facebook mobile app for iphone

Please do your best to avoid these kind of titles:
Looking for a developer
Need help with my design
I require a professional website

5. Required skills

Different coding environments require different skills. If you're looking for front-end developers then being good at HTML, CSS and JavaScript should do the job.

Back-end work require advanced skills like PHP, Laravel, Magento, etc. Make sure to select all the skills that are required in building your product.

Not a technical person?
No worries, you can leave the skills section blank and let the developer decide what best suits your needs.

6. Your project description

Probably the most important section of your design template. You should include as much information as possible.

Think of the following:

  • A brief description of your website/app - How it should work, the industry you build it for (could be a restaurant, an insurance company, a social network etc.), special functionality etc.
  • Front-end or Back-end work? - It's very important to specify this in the description in order to avoid confusion.
  • Other required skills - in case you didn't find them in the skills section
  • Project deadline - how fast do you want your project to be built?
  • Useful documents - you can upload project briefs, brand guidelines and other helpful docs (only in PDF file type)

7. Project budget

Specify the budget for building your product. A very important feature of your design template. The developers should know how much you are willing to pay for turning your design template into a functional website or app.

Please take on a realistic and up-to-date approach when budgeting your project. Offering $100 for coding a 5 pages website might sound good but that would only attract low grade developers which will not deliver professional work.

Not sure about your budget?
You can leave it blank and discuss it with the developer afterwards.
